SUMMARY:Team Viking by James Rowland
DESCRIPTION:Ten years ago\, my best friend Tom was diagnosed with heart cancer and given three months to live. His last wish was to have a full Viking burial. So I gave him one. \nTeam Viking tells the remarkable\, hilarious and heart-lifting story of how I actually managed to give my best mate the send-off he wanted. Blending storytelling\, music\, comedy and even a genuine Viking helmet\, it’s a comic ode to death\, friendship and the beautiful absurdity of life. \nThe show premiered in a tiny meeting room at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe and became a breakthrough hit: critically acclaimed\, completely sold out\, and the beginning of my career as a contemporary storyteller. Since then it has toured hundreds of times across the UK and beyond. \nNow\, ten years on\, this modern classic returns for a special anniversary edition – as funny\, raw and joyous as ever. \nTeam Viking is brought to you by Salam & Holohan

SUMMARY:SMOKE and You Are Loved
DESCRIPTION:SMOKE \nCreated and performed by Alexis Gregory \nDirected by Campbell X \n+ You Are Loved panel. \nAlex wakes one morning to a new message on Insta from his boyfriend Ben. But Ben died two years ago. What appears to be an everyday hack soon turns into something else as Alex’s life spirals out of control. \nSMOKE is the newest play from acclaimed queer theatre-maker Alexis Gregory (“Riot Act”) whose work has appeared in the West End\, across London\, the UK\, and internationally\, and is directed by the award-winning filmmaker Campbell X (“Stud Life”\, “Low Rider”). \nRaw\, and stripped back\, the conversational SMOKE is a hard-hitting\, savage comic-thriller about another dead gay guy on social media\, drugs\, the Demon Twink in Starbucks\, and Mariah Carey. \nNon-profit organisation You Are Loved (YAL)\, created in response to disproportionately high rates of premature deaths from suicide and drugs in the LGBTQ+ community\, focuses on addressing the root causes\, including stigma\, shame and loneliness. \nPost each SMOKE performance\, YAL will host a specially curated forty-five minute panel\, unique to each town and city on the tour\, involving local LGBTQ+ figures\, exploring how SMOKE’s themes crossover with YAL’s work\, in mobilising the community to get better at talking\, sharing and supporting each other. \nSMOKE and You Are Loved tour in a unique partnership combining culture and community\, presenting two interlinked events for audiences. \nSMOKE is funded by Arts Council England.

SUMMARY:UEA Green Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:A film of joy and wonder\, EVERY LITTLE THING offers profound truths in a deceptively simple story. In tending to these fragile yet resilient hummingbirds\, Terry Masear finds a sense of healing from her own past. Her diminutive patients — brought into sharp focus through breathtaking\, beautifully detailed photography — become memorable protagonists in their own right. The compassion and empathy that Masear shows her Lilliputian charges serves as a lesson to us all — a reminder that in the smallest of acts\, and in the tiniest of creatures\, we might find grace. \nEvery Little Thing is a film by SALLY AITKEN\, a twice Emmy®-nominated director and writer highly regarded for her visually arresting work characterised by compassion\, and humour. As a filmmaker she delights in unknown stories\, adventurous collaborations and the world’s complexities. \nGREEN FILM FESTIVAL @UEA is an annual celebration of environmental films from around the world. We celebrate and support the efforts of filmmakers\, communities\, activists and allies working towards the shared goals of global sustainability and climate justice.

SUMMARY:Sisters 360
DESCRIPTION:Hopes\, hurdles and halfpipes. \nFatima and Salima are the closest\, coolest\, hijab-wearing step-sisters in all of Bradford – and nothing is going to stop them from winning the Tiny is Mighty skateboarding competition. With their eyes on the prize and their boards under their feet\, they are unstoppable. That is\, until they overhear whispers in the kitchen… their parents might be splitting up. Suddenly\, everything is at risk – their friendship\, their family\, and their dream. Only the greatest super-plan ever concocted can keep them together and on track for victory. \nSisters 360 is a funny\, heartfelt and high-energy new play written by Asif Khan\, inspired by the real-life “Hijabi Sisters” from Hull – three skateboard-loving siblings who have challenged stereotypes and inspired countless others\, following in the footsteps of their hero\, Olympic medallist Sky Brown. With skateboarding tricks\, sibling banter and a whole lot of heart\, this uplifting story explores the power of family\, friendship and resilience in the face of change. \nAt its core\, Sisters 360 is about courage\, creativity and the determination to hold on to what matters most. It’s a story about finding strength in teamwork\, navigating life’s challenges\, and daring to dream big even when the ground beneath you feels unsteady. The play also gently opens up conversations about family life\, separation and how children discover their own voice when faced with change. \nPerfect for ages 8–12 (and anyone who remembers being that age)\, Sisters 360 is boisterous\, joyful and inspiring – a celebration of skateboards\, sisterhood and standing proud.

SUMMARY:Mitch Benn: The Lehrer Effect
DESCRIPTION:When\, years ago\, a teenage Mitch discovered American comic songwriting legend Tom Lehrer\, the course of his life was changed forever. \nMitch looks at the legacy of the elusive Lehrer; the creative debt that he and all those who mix humour and melody owe to him; and performs some of the more Lehreresque of his own songs. Since Mr Lehrer placed his entire catalogue in the public domain\, you can expect a few Mitch Benn-ified covers of some of Tom’s most famous creations as well. \nTom Lehrer died in July 2025 at the age of 97 and immediately before the premiere of the show in Edinburgh\, which means that this show is now a heart-felt eulogy\, rather than living tribute to the artist.

SUMMARY:Michael Akadiri: Don't Call Me Uncle!
DESCRIPTION:Following two hit UK tours\, Biggest Award in Comedy nominee and resident (junior) Doctor Michael Akadiri prescribes Norwich Theatre Stage Two with a potent dose of his latest offering\, Don’t Call Me Uncle! \nMulti-award-winning comedian Michael is proud to wear many hats: doctor\, husband & father. Evidently\, that list does not include uncle. \nYet\, despite only being in his early 30s\, “the supremely talented and likeable” (Metro) doctor\, for the first time ever\, was recently called uncle in public (a term usually reserved for elders!). This has sent him spiralling! \nJoin the ” hugely entertaining” (Chortle) Akadiri as he fights this lurid allegation\, contemplates the difference between perception and reality\, all whilst keeping the laughs flowing with his trademark “sharp-wit” (Chortle) & “politically punchy” (Guardian) anecdotes. \nAs seen on Comedy Central LIVE\, ITV’s Stand Up Sketch & Channel 4’s Stand Up to Cancer. \nAs heard on Capital Xtra’s Breakfast Show\, LBC & BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends \nTour support for Jason Manford. \nWinner – Komedia New Comedy Award\nWinner – Comedian of Medicine Award\, Haags Comedy Festival\nNextUp Biggest Award in Comedy nominee

SUMMARY:The Selfish Giant
DESCRIPTION:The Giant is angry. He returns from Cornwall to find children – children! – playing happily in his beautiful garden! \nEvery day after school\, they come and run about\, laughing and playing games under the blossom on his peach trees\, listening to the delightful songs of the birds! So he puts up a big wall and an even bigger KEEP OUT notice to put a stop to all that. Then winter seizes the garden in its icy fingers… \nWill this grip ever be broken?
