SUMMARY:Golden Light Community Contemporary Dance Class
DESCRIPTION:Come join us at Carrow House for a fun\, easy and uplifting new community dance class that will inspire you to move and groove together. Whether you’re a beginner\, curious about movement or a seasoned dancer\, this class is open to everyone. As a professional contemporary dance instructor I will guide you through easy-to-follow movements that get us all moving across the floor together (think folk dance) as we move towards more rhythmic and dynamic moves (think freeflow clubbing)\, ensuring you have a great time while learning new moves and connecting with yourself and others. There is also space to rest and observe from the sidelines\, if needed. \nDon’t miss out on this opportunity to dance with others in a safe and inclusive space\, enjoying the great vibes of dancing in the golden light of the change of season in the beautiful and ornate Orangery\, a grade II listed building\, at the new Carrow House in Norwich. The class is led by Carrow House member and American-British dance specialist and teacher Sara Wookey. We uphold a friendly\, non-competitive and inclusive dance environment where everyone can find their own pace and experience the joy of dancing alone and with a group.

SUMMARY:LA CHIMERA - Starlight Cinema at The Steam Café
DESCRIPTION:Join us at The Steam Café for LA CHIMERA on the big screen. \n“Riparbella\, Tuscany\, early ’80s. An Englishman in a grimy linen suit\, Arthur (a superb Josh O’Connor) has just been released from prison. Yearning for his old lover\, Beniamina\, the daughter of an ageing local aristocrat (Isabella Rossellini)\, he falls in with a group of tombaroli (tomb robbers)\, a rowdy\, Fellini-esque crew of twentysomethings who claim to work as farmers and entertainers\, but instead pilfer the area’s ancient burial sites for Etruscan earthenware and ornaments to sell on the black market. \nLocated halfway between the dead and the living\, continuing Rohrwacher’s project of mining and mythologising of her country’s past\, La Chimera creates its own wild\, improbable fictional space and draws you inside and under its spell. Romantic and wayward\, with a wonderful central performance by O’Connor and beautifully shot by Hélène Louvart\, it’s an entirely bewitching film – an ode to the power and fragility of lovely things\, and a cautionary tale about how easily they may be lost.” (Courtesy of the BFI) \nAge rating: 15\nLa Chimera Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DG0M8vJgltw \nCheck out a glowing review from film critic Mark Kermode:\n \n🎟️ Pay-what-you-can tickets: £3 / £5 / £7\n🕰️ Doors at 6.30pm. Film starts at 7pm.\n🍺 Bar open\, popcorn & snacks available\n🧚‍♀️ Bring Your Own Blanket! \n* The space is currently accessed by two flights of stairs\, which may not be suitable for some people with reduced mobility. To discuss access\, please email us at steamcafe.norfolk@gmail.com \nStarlight Cinema is a new monthly film night at The Steam Café\, bringing a wide range of films to a unique industrial heritage setting. Discover your new favourite film – and rediscover your old favourites too. \nWith support of the BFI Film Audience Network\, awarding funds from the National Lottery in order to bring this project to more audiences across the UK.\nForncett Industrial Steam Museum is an award-winning collection of stationary steam engines in South Norfolk\, 30 minutes from Norwich.\nYour booking helps Forncett Festival CIC keep community arts events alive.
