Their nature and purpose have changed greatly over this period\, as have the buildings in which they have been housed. \nIn the early period exhibitions tended to display the natural world\, but it was not long before collections built up to reveal ancient civilisations. In the 19th century\, many exhibitions provided information on industry and manufacturing processes\, while art galleries allowed the public to see works which previously were only in private collections. In recent times\, the subject matter of exhibitions has proliferated\, with a strong emphasis on education. \nRevelation offers a brief but intriguing overview of an important aspect of our cultural life.

DESCRIPTION:Pakefield Singers make a return visit to St Peter Mancroft on Saturday 19 July. The choir will be performing sublime pieces inspired by and to complement the art installation\, ‘Hidden’ by renowned ecclesiastical sculptor Peter Walker\, which will be suspended in the church above the choir.\nThe programme includes pieces by Tavener\, O Magnum Mysterium by Lauridsen\, described by the composer as ‘a quiet song of profound inner joy’. Gjeilo’s O Lux Beata\, with oboe accompaniment; the Benedictus from The Armed Man alongside music by Mozart\, Bach\, Mendelssohn\, Fauré and others.\nThere will be solo pieces as well as accompaniments by Tim Patient\, on piano and organ and Oboist Julian Kirk\, will play the haunting Gabriel’s Oboe from the film The Mission.\nA fitting climax to the concert will be the glorious Antiphon from Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs: Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing.

DESCRIPTION:Uncover the story behind our artisan English wines from between the rows themselves on an exclusive vineyard tour led by Norfolk’s original winemaker\, John Hemmant and his team who work with him in the winery and on the vineyard. \nWeekly tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11:00 am until 13:00 pm and also from 15:00 to 17:00. Please book in advance to guarantee a place \nThe tour starts with a walk around the vines learning about pruning techniques\, the different grape varieties that we grow and management of the vines on our sustainable vineyard. Next the tour moves to the winery where you will hear some of the secrets of winemaking and depending on the time of the year you may even get to sample some wine directly from the vat. Finally you will enjoy a wine tasting of up to 5 wines – both still and sparkling from grapes grown on our vineyard and named after the birds that visit us. \nIf you are on a morning tour why not add lunch after your tour – or if visiting us in the afternoon book lunch before your tour. DESCRIPTION:Revelation was created and curated by Dr Robert Anderson \nMuseum exhibitions have been available to the public in Britain for over 400 years. Their nature and purpose have changed greatly over this period\, as have the buildings in which they have been housed. \nIn the early period exhibitions tended to display the natural world\, but it was not long before collections built up to reveal ancient civilisations. In the 19th century\, many exhibitions provided information on industry and manufacturing processes\, while art galleries allowed the public to see works which previously were only in private collections. In recent times\, the subject matter of exhibitions has proliferated\, with a strong emphasis on education. \nRevelation offers a brief but intriguing overview of an important aspect of our cultural life.
