SUMMARY:Winter boat trip on NWT Hickling Broad (7 March - 10.30am)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 90 minute guided boat trip and journey into the wild heart of Broadland. This unique excursion offers the opportunity to experience the peace and beauty of Hickling Broad National Nature Reserve in winter\, while seeking out the remarkable array of wildlife that thrives here during the colder months. \nDuring the trip we hope to see gatherings of wintering waterfowl\, including tufted duck\, pochard\, mute swan\, coot and several dabbling duck species. With a little luck\, rarer visitors such as scaup\, goosander\, and a variety of grebes may make an appearance. We will keep an eye to the skies for flocks of pink-footed geese and winter thrushes\, while numerous raptors hunt across the reedbeds and marshes before heading to their evening roost at Stubb Mill. There is always the possibility of rarer sightings too – from the elusive bittern and Broadland’s resident cranes\, to otters and even red and Chinese water deer. \nThis immersive winter journey promises to be a memorable encounter with the wild side of the Norfolk Broads. \nBefore or after your journey why not treat yourself to a warming meal at our pub\, the Pleasure Boat Inn\, Hickling (just a 5 min drive from the reserve) – to book a table call 01692 780660. \nThis event is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

SUMMARY:Jenny Foulds: Life Learnings of a Nonsensical Human
DESCRIPTION:Life Learnings of a Nonsensical Human is an ode to the joy and complexities of friendship\, queerness and raving. To the kindness of strangers\, to the heart-break of loss and missing and finding joy in the most unlikely places. These stories are for old ravers and fun makers\, for anyone who has had a best friend. This is a love letter to the people we meet along the way and the sticky floors that we have danced on for all these years. \nSpoken word theatre in a debut one woman show that gleefully jumps from one subject to another in the way only an ADHD brain can. A series of poetic windows into the life and mind of Jenny Foulds\, from growing up in the 90s\, coming out and raves; to losing a parent\, grief and finding the ability to find pockets of joy again. \nLife Learnings of a Nonsensical Human is a debut\, spoken-word theatre show from Jenny Foulds\, queer performance poet\, writer and theatre-maker from Scotland. She is the owner of ADHD and Dyslexia. Jenny was the 2021 Scottish Poetry Slam Champion and was a finalist in the World Slam Championships in 2021 \,and hosts and curates Brighton-based Spoken Word night Rebel Soapbox. She has had feature and headline gigs at Poetry nights across the UK including Hammer & Tongue\, Loud Poets\, Tongue Fu and Stanza Poetry festival.

SUMMARY:Winter boat trip on NWT Hickling Broad (8 March - 10.30am)

SUMMARY:Palestine: Peace de Resistance
DESCRIPTION:Off the back of a sold-out London run and critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe\, Sami Abu Wardeh’s hit show blends resistance\, identity\, and ‘defiantly goofy’ comedy (★★★★ The Guardian). You can run from resistance\, but it will always catch up with you – as Sami Abu Wardeh finds out in his critically acclaimed show\, fresh from winning a Bestie Award and Mervyn Stutter’s Spirit of the Fringe at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. \nAs a Palestinian born in exile\, only to be displaced from his country of birth by yet another war\, Sami digs deep into his ties to resistance and Palestinian identity. What emerges is bold\, playful and utterly original: a show that asks whether resistance can be funny\, and answers with laughter. \nThis is comedy where silliness collides with survival. Expect an open call for mass civil disobedience\, equitable distribution of hand puppets\, and some of the silliest faces you’ll ever see.
