Norfolk Events Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Norfolk Events website, your go-to guide for discovering and promoting local business and community events across Norfolk (the “Website”). By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and any documents expressly incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, you must not use the Website.

We provide a curated directory of local activities and events, together with venue details, scheduled timings, and related content aimed at residents and visitors. We may update or change features from time to time to improve the service.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must be at least 18 years old to submit content. If you are under 18, you may only use the Website with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who will be responsible for your conduct. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.

We may refuse registration, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion where we reasonably believe these Terms have been or are likely to be breached.

4. User Responsibilities
You agree to use the Website lawfully and responsibly and not to:
post, upload, or transmit any content that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, invasive of privacy, or otherwise objectionable;

If you organise or host an event, you are solely responsible for the event, its safety, compliance with law and venue policies, and communications with attendees. You must ensure that all event information is accurate and kept up to date.

5. Content Submission Guidelines
By submitting any content (including event listings, images, logos, descriptions, comments, reviews, links, or other materials) (“Promotional Content”) you confirm that:

you have full rights, licences, permissions, and consents to submit and use the Promotional Content on the Website and grant the licences set out below;
the Promotional Content is accurate, not misleading, is in good taste for a community audience, and complies with all laws and these Terms;
where the Promotional Content includes personal data of any person, you have a lawful basis to include that data and have provided all necessary notices and consents.
where Promotional Content is submitted for events that involve regulated activities such as the sale of alcohol, provision of entertainment, or collection of donations for charitable purposes, in doing so, organisers are responsible for obtaining all required licences, permissions, and approvals and for compliance with relevant legislation and local authority requirements. You must provide accurate statements regarding any licences and age restrictions.

We reserve the right to review the Promotional Content before it is uploaded to the Website. If there are any issues or discrepancies with the Promotional Content, we will contact you at the details provided. Thereafter we continue to have the right to review, moderate, edit, or remove Promotional Content at any time for any reason, including alleged infringement, breach of these Terms, or in response to notices. We may request evidence of rights, permissions, or factual substantiation and may refuse or remove listings that cannot be substantiated.
You must promptly contact us to update or cancel listings where details change or events are postponed or cancelled, in order for us to make such amendments. You must not submit duplicate or spam listings.

6. Licence to Use Promotional Content
You retain ownership of any Promotional Content that you may submit. By submitting Promotional Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sub-licensable licence to host, use, reproduce, adapt, modify for formatting, translate, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, and otherwise make available the Promotional Content on and in connection with the Website, our social media, email newsletters, and promotional materials for the purpose of operating and promoting the Website and local events. This licence lasts for the period your Promotional Content is available on the Website and for a reasonable archival period thereafter. You may remove your Promotional Content at any time by contacting us, but we may retain copies for backup, legal, or evidential purposes and we cannot recall content already shared or cached by third parties.

You also grant users of the Website a limited, non-commercial licence to view, share, and link to your Promotional Content via the Website’s standard functionality.

7. Our Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Website and its content (excluding Promotional Content), including text, graphics, logos, icons, software, databases, and design, are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the Website for your personal, non-commercial purposes or for the legitimate promotion of local events and businesses through features provided by the Website. You must not copy, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, distribute, sell, license, or exploit any part of the Website or its content without our prior written consent, except as permitted by law or these Terms.

8. Featured Event Package

If you wish to utilise our promotional feature to enhance the visibility of your event on the Website (the “Featured Event Package”) you must clearly indicate this when completing the event submission form.

Submission of the form does not guarantee acceptance. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to decline or amend any request that does not meet our content, quality, or compliance standards.
Upon receipt of your completed submission form, we will review the information provided. If approved, we will contact you using the details supplied to confirm the duration of your feature (the “Promotional Period”), publication dates and applicable fees for the Featured Event Package.

Once you confirm acceptance, we will issue an invoice. Payment must be made in full for the entirety of the Promotional Period, in accordance with the payment terms stated on the invoice. By accepting the Featured Events Package, you acknowledge and agree that all fees are non-refundable once the Promotional Period has commenced. Cancellation requests made prior to commencement of the Promotional Period may be considered at our discretion.

We will not activate or process the Featured Event Package until payment has been received.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of the information submitted for your event. We accept no liability for errors, omissions, or misrepresentations in the submitted content.

We do not guarantee any specific level of visibility, engagement, or attendance as a result of the Featured Event Package.
We reserve the right to suspend or remove any Featured Event Package without refund if the event or its content is found to breach our policies or applicable laws.

9. Business Directory Listings
If you wish to be published on Norfolk Event’s directory of companies and professionals connected to the events industry (“Business Directory Listings”) you must apply as directed via the Website by completing the form.

Submission of the form does not guarantee acceptance. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to decline or amend any request that does not meet our content, quality, or compliance standards.

Upon receipt of your completed submission form, we will review the information provided. If approved, we will contact you using the details supplied to confirm the applicable fees and provide an invoice for the Business Directory Listing.
Payment must be made in full for the entirety of the initial period of 12 months during which the Business Directory Listing will be live (the “Term”), in accordance with the payment terms stated on the invoice. By accepting the terms of the Business Directory Listing, you acknowledge and agree that all fees are non-refundable once the Term has commenced. Cancellation requests made prior to commencement of the Term may be considered at our discretion.
We will contact you 3 months prior to the anniversary date of the Term in relation to renewal. If you choose not to accept the revised terms, your Business Directory Listing will automatically expire at the end of the current Term.

We will not activate or create the Business Directory Listing until payment has been received.

10. Third-Party Content, Listings, and Links

The Website includes Promotional Content and links to third-party websites, platforms, ticketing services, and social media. We do not endorse or control third-party content or websites and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, legality, or practices. Your dealings with third parties, including ticket purchases or reservations, are solely between you and the relevant third party and may be subject to the third party’s terms. You should review those terms and policies carefully.

11. Event Information, Tickets, and Promotions

Event times, dates, prices, and other details are provided by organisers or third parties and may change without notice. We use reasonable efforts to encourage accuracy but do not guarantee that listings are complete or error-free. You should verify details directly with the organiser or venue before relying on them.

If the Website provides links to ticketing services or reservation platforms, we do not sell or issue tickets unless expressly stated. Any promotions, discounts, or offers are subject to the organiser’s terms and availability. Refunds, exchanges, and entry policies are determined by the organiser or ticketing provider.

12. Prohibited Businesses and Events

You must not use the Website to promote illegal activities, unlicensed events where a licence is required, adult-only content without appropriate age restrictions, gambling contrary to law, the sale of regulated products without required approvals, or any event or activity that we reasonably consider harmful to the community or inconsistent with the Website’s purpose of supporting local engagement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for to you for any loss of profits, sales, business, revenue, data, goodwill, or anticipated savings, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
You are responsible for ensuring that your technology is compatible with the Website and for implementing appropriate anti-virus and security protections.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your breach of these Terms, your Promotional Content, your events or activities, or your misuse of the Website.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Website and supersede any prior understandings or agreements relating to the subject matter.

24. Third Party Rights

No person other than you and us has any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any of these Terms.
