DESCRIPTION:Glorious Forms Returns to Stage Two \nFollowing last year’s sell-out performance at Stage Two\, Glorious Forms returns with a joyful evening of original dance created by Norwich companies — followed by an optional audience workshop open to all. \nInclusive community dance companies Dance Moves You and In Cahoots invite you to join them for a sharing of their latest work\, celebrating dancing bodies in all their glorious forms. \nAfter the performance\, stay for tea and cake\, and take part in an informal workshop if you wish. No previous dance experience is needed. The workshop offers an insight into how the companies create their work\, a chance to learn some choreography\, and an opportunity to experience the joy of moving together. \nDance Moves You is an inclusive company for adult independent movers with learning disabilities. Their work reflects the lives\, interests and individuality of the dancers themselves. \nIn Cahoots celebrates the creative possibilities that emerge when dancers with and without disabilities perform together. \nGlorious Forms is a project that aspires to recognise\, platform and increase access to inclusive dance in Norwich and Norfolk. It is supported through a partnership with Norwich Theatre and funded by Arts Council England

SUMMARY:Teen urban arts takeover at Castle Quarter this May half term
DESCRIPTION:A creative\, positive and free event for teens will land at Castle Quarter in Norwich later this month (28th May)\, with urban arts workshops hosted in the Castle Gardens\, giving young people the chance to explore their artistic side and learn new skills. \nOn Thursday 28 May\, Castle Gardens in the city centre will host a drop-in afternoon session featuring a range of urban arts workshops for 11–18-year-olds\, delivered by not-for-profit collective Reprezent Project in partnership with Norfolk County Council’s Targeted Youth Support Service. \nRunning from 2pm–6pm\, the free drop-in event (no booking required) will transform Castle Gardens into a relaxed\, youth-focused creative hub where teens can have a go at everything from DJ’ing and breakdancing to rap\, lyric writing and graffiti vinyl art. All vinyl art creations made on the day can be taken home. \nThe Reprezent Project team are a group of creative facilitators who lead workshops that aim to inspire young people to engage with urban arts. Now\, the Reprezent Project\, accompanied by the Targeted Youth Support Service from Norfolk County Council\, are bringing their vibrancy and energy to Castle Quarter this May. \nGemma Hyde\, Marketing and Administration Manager at Castle Quarter\, said the event is all about giving young people space to get creative: “We’re transforming Castle Gardens into a safe\, creative environment where young people can come along\, for free and try something new\, express themselves and connect with others. It will be a positive\, high-energy afternoon\, and a fantastic introduction to urban arts for any teens who want to get involved and have a go at Dj-ing\, graffiti art or breakdancing.” \nRuben Cruz from the Reprezent Project adds; “With special guests and Norwich-based artists there on the day\, including UK rapper Sleeps Cousin and breakers from Kelfx Crew who will teaching breakdance classes\, there will be loads of opportunities to try out new skills and get involved. For every show\, its elite dancers transform into two personas\, ballerina and danseur\, to perform some of the most iconic and challenging roles from the classical ballet canon. \nFounded in 1974 in the wake of the Stonewall Riots\, The Trocks started life as a late-night act on the makeshift New York stage of an early LGBTQ+ organisation. They have always been trailblazers and inclusivity\, gender fluidity and body positivity\, once subversive now part of the mainstream\, are a given for them. \nJoin us for the post-show Q&A on Friday 5 June with a BSL interpreter.
