DESCRIPTION:Antonia Clare Studio & Gallery\, in Chapel Yard\, Holt is delighted to present an exhibition of work by contemporary figurative artist Judy Logan\, from 21 July – 29 August. \nJudy has a longstanding connection with Holt. Her distinctive crow artworks have previously been selected for the Holt Festival Art exhibitions\, and one was acquired by the late Sir John Hurt\, who affectionately nicknamed her ‘CrowGirl’. \nWorking from her studio in Cambridge\, Judy creates expressive paintings and limited-edition etchings in which mischievous crows and powerful female figures emerge through rich colour and sculptural form. Gallery owner\, and fellow artist\, Antonia Clare sees the work – particularly the crows – as a natural fit for the landscape and atmosphere of North Norfolk. \nFrom Goddesses to Mighty Crows will include paintings\, etchings and selected events where Judy will discuss her inspiration and creative process. Her distinctive crow artworks have previously been selected for the Holt Festival Art exhibitions\, and one was acquired by the late Sir John Hurt\, who affectionately nicknamed her ‘CrowGirl’. \nWorking from her studio in Cambridge\, Judy creates expressive paintings and limited-edition etchings in which mischievous crows and powerful female figures emerge through rich colour and sculptural form. Gallery owner\, and fellow artist\, Antonia Clare sees the work – particularly the crows – as a natural fit for the landscape and atmosphere of North Norfolk. \nFrom Goddesses to Mighty Crows will include paintings\, etchings and selected events where Judy will discuss her inspiration and creative process.
