Taiwan Philharmonic
Organiser: Norwich Theatre Royal £15 – £43

We are thrilled to be welcoming one of Asia’s most exciting orchestras, the Taiwan Philharmonic.
In the first half of the programme Taiwan’s top young violinist, Paul Huang, will play the much-loved Bruch Violin Concerto with its famous romantic slow movement. In the second half the orchestra’s conductor Jun Märkl will open with two of the most popular movements from Holst’s The Planets – his pulsating music depicting Mars and his grandiose portrait of the planet Jupiter. The concert will end with a suite from what many regard to be the greatest ballet score of the 20th century – Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet – with its highly lyrical and emotional mood.
