The Veterans Central charity at West Raynham SHQ is holding its Annual Activities and Open Day on Sunday 20th July. The event supports the work of the Veterans Central charity.
This is a great opportunity for visitors to not only see the fantastic and unique (in that you can tour the building) Grade II RAF Station Headquarters and its 3 acres of gardens, but also experience a range of activities and displays, including flypasts by the RAF’s Memorial Flight Lancaster. I addition to a wide range of military-related displays and activities, from aircraft cockpits to various displays, there is a children’s activity area – and a special cockpit simulator for children with photo opportunities. The craft and trade fair includes a variety of stalls with something to interest most tastes. We also have a massive sale of new books, from children’s books to crafts, cookery, sports, military, novels, games and more- over 2,000 brand new books at crazy prices! Our tombola has an amazing selection of prizes. Food and drink options include our Veterans Central café, a BBQ and a Asian/Mexican food truck – but you are also welcome to picnic in the 3 acres of gardens.

Military-related activities: RAF Lancaster flypast; Hunter aircraft with ‘fighter dispersal’ set-up and open cockpit; Canberra PR.9 open cockpit; Other aircraft cockpits and displays; Military vehicles and Reenactors; Military Memorabilia stalls; Displays including: Royal Observer Corps, Ejection Seats, Jet engines, aircraft and ground armament, air reconnaissance, Medals display; Wargames display; Military Book Sale – hundreds of new books from £1 to £5, 2nd hand books at under £2
Craft and Food/Drink Fair with a range of stalls, plus ‘Thrift Shop’ with clothes and toys
Children’s Activities: Fun zone, including games, puzzles, storytelling, and more; Children’s book sale. Activities and games: Axe throwing – and more
Tombola with over 200 items to win!
Classic Cars and other vehicles
Military and Emergency Services charities; Military and Local History museum displays
Food and Drink: SHQ Café (hot and cold drinks and food), BBQ, plus Food Truck
