Norwich Ceramics Market: A New Chapter for Clay in the City

On Sunday 7th December 2025, The Forum will welcome the first-ever Norwich Ceramics Market — a fresh celebration of contemporary pottery at the heart of the city.

The event is the brainchild of Nicole Flack, ceramic artist and founder of Cretaceous Creations, whose cult dinosaur mugs have already earned a loyal following among collectors in the Paleoart and indie ceramics scenes. Born in London and raised in Norfolk, Nicole has strong roots in the region and a clear vision: to make ceramics more accessible, playful, and relevant to everyday life.

“Norfolk has such a thriving creative community,” she explains. “I wanted to create a space where local audiences could discover the exciting work happening in the wider indie ceramics scene across the UK.”

The market brings together over 50 makers from across the country, offering everything from functional cups, plates, and bowls to imaginative sculptural pieces featuring animals, dinosaurs, and mythical creatures. It’s a showcase of what Flack calls the Homegrown Pottery Society — more than a collective, it’s an ethos that champions originality, accessibility, and the joy of handmade.

With ceramics enjoying a surge of popularity — boosted by shows like The Great Pottery Throw Down and a growing appetite for shopping local — the timing feels perfect. Set against the striking architecture of The Forum, the market offers visitors the chance to meet makers, buy directly from them, and perhaps find the perfect one-of-a-kind Christmas gift.

Accessible, creative, and a little bit punk, the Norwich Ceramics Market is set to become a highlight of the city’s cultural calendar.
